We are excited to host a visit from Wichita author, illustrator, and cartoonist Grant Snider on Sept. 30. He will visit the grade school and jr./sr. high school to give presentations for K-12 students and conduct comic-making workshops. Kindergarten through 5th-grade students will learn about his books in storytime, and Mrs. Brownlee will promote comics and graphic novels through library lessons and book recommendations. Mrs. Madden will also do some follow-up lessons in art class.
Mr. Snider is unique in that he's written books for all ages, including picture books for young readers and comics for middle grade up through adult. You can learn more about his books on his website. He also has a blog called Incidental Comics.
Students and staff are invited to purchase his books to be autographed on the day of his visit. Mrs. Miller is coordinating book orders through a local bookstore, or you are welcome to purchase a book on your own and bring it to school for autographing. Click here to access the book order form.
This event is sponsored in part by the South Central Kansas Library System, whose mission is to assist member libraries to provide excellent service to their communities.
